​​Dodsworth is a performance artist whose practice explores the relationship between the body, costume, light and the camera. Dodsworth engages with this motif through costume and prop design created from second-hand, found materials, which are brought to life through video performance, live performance and performative photography. Often Dodsworth combines mediums to create works, for example sublimation printing images onto material then performing with and/or alongside them. Their exploration of performative photography work could be described as multidisciplinary sometimes left as unedited analog, sometimes taking the form of soft material sculptures, Riso printed zines and most recently screen prints. ​

Through Dodsworth’s lens as a performance artist they believe we are forever performing within society. Gender roles, behavioural patterns and playing pretend. Through drag and making Dodsworth creates a space which allows these societal rules to be warped and here they explore the boundaries of expression. Dodsworth’s work stives to create a place to explore the self, move and play freely.​
